CIAT Programme Leaders Annual Meeting 08.12.16 @ UCLan (University of Central Lancashire)

I am not sure if you are aware but this year’s CIAT Annual Course L:eaders meeting this year is going to be held at UCLan on the 8th of December 2016. From 09.30 to 16.30

This is a chance for the course leader/programme leaders from all accredited programmes across the world to come together and talk about all the issues we are facing.
The morning is taken up with our annual AGM, but this year we are hoping to run a workshop in the afternoon looking specifically at the issues around ‘gaps’ in the journey someone takes from being at school to becoming a chartered Architectural Technologist – there have been a series of gaps that have been identified
• Young people’s awareness of the profession and the role at school/college and the difference between an Architectural Technologist and others in the larger construction field.

• Graduates and their journey from academia to becoming chartered and why so many don’t follow this route.

• Female uptake on to the programmes.
The workshops would take place after lunch from 13.00 to 15.00. We are looking to have a series of 15 minute presentations from a variety of people to talk about their own experiences or areas of best practice – these could be other course leaders, STEM Advisors and others and we would really value your input and involvement in the event. If you could let me know firstly that you are free to attend the afternoon session and secondly if you are happy to talk about your own experience or experiences from others then that would be very much appreciated.
If you would like to add anything to our provisional agenda then please let me know.
Thanks in advance

Ann
