I am not sure if you are aware but this year’s CIAT Annual Course L:eaders meeting this year is going to be held at UCLan on the 8th of December 2016. From 09.30 to 16.30
This is a chance for the course leader/programme leaders from all accredited programmes across the world to come together and talk about all the issues we are facing.
The morning is taken up with our annual AGM, but this year we are hoping to run a workshop in the afternoon looking specifically at the issues around ‘gaps’ in the journey someone takes from being at school to becoming a chartered Architectural Technologist – there have been a series of gaps that have been identified
Young people’s awareness of the profession and the role at school/college and the difference between an Architectural Technologist and others in the larger construction field.
Graduates and their journey from academia to becoming chartered and why so many don’t follow this route.
Female uptake on to the programmes.
I would really value your thoughts and comments on these matters. If we have a better understanding of the issues, then we might be better able to address them, from all aspects, practice, profession and academia.
